To write a drama, I'd like to know the following:
- When is the script needed by?
- Number of Acts required,
and their rough duration?
- Main
moral/punchline/theme the Act(s) should communicate?
- Any secondary event
themes (eg event slogan, key Bible verse)?
- Ideal number of 'leading' actors
(range) you'd like involved?
- Ideal number of extras to include (if any)
- Are kids required to be the lead actors (ages)?
- Key age group the drama
is targeting?
- Ballpark estimate
audience size?
- General audience
tolerance (from conservative organ church to loud drums and guitars with
interpretive dance church)
- Will it be presented indoor, in a tent,
outdoor?
- Is the 'stage' area raised? (eg
could the audience see someone sitting on the stage?)
- Rough amount of room on
stage available?
- Can the room be easily darkened?
- What side-of-stage
‘entries’ are available for cast to enter/exit quickly out of sight?
- How many audience isles
that actors could use, and can they get on stage from each?
- Number of Hands free
microphones available and /or cordless hand held microphones available?
- I there a good sound system to
play music/sound effects?
- Are you aware of a 'sub-woofer' that we could play deep earthquake style rumbles with?
- Is there an ability to play sound
effects at specific times?
- what is the size and position of a
screen(s) a video could be played on, or images displayed on?
- Provide a general picture of the
stage area from the audience view could be helpful (or a live stream link to look at)
- Any other considerations of things to include/avoid?
